Year: 1986
Description: The LaserWriter Plus released by Apple in 1986 was the machine that started the “desktop publishing revolution”.
It was the most advanced laser printer of its time. The LaserWriter Plus is a second-generation model. It allowed for the first time a “What You Sea IS What You Get” print solution. From then on, it was possible to print in high resolution everything created in layout programs.
The printer had AppleTalk that allowed up to 16 computers to share the printer and Postscript that enabled it to print WYSIWG.
Today this LaserWriter is extremely rare. It was mostly used by businesses and because of the heavy weight, it was discarded afterwards. Very few remain.
